quick notes.
Aug. 18th, 2024 09:33 pm— she's an alien clone crashlanded on earth.
— her species are shapechangers who usually appear as wolflike creatures.
— it's an ugly and gory transformation from alien to human.
— her primary objective was to find a temporary settlement for her cluster; earth was not on the itinerary.
— currently disconnected from the rest of her hivemind, and experiencing individual thought for the first time (not having a great time honestly).
— slowly coming to appreciate the freedom of being A Person, but would rather go home, thanks.
— will eat people if provoked.

— garila ulfret (garil wolf-daughter), matina cluster; uses the alias kharla olfursen (initially) or carey alfred (when her fellow node tracks her down) to blend in
— ulfret strain of clones have keen scent-sense, and could track a vargr as far back as a week based on scent strength.
— scent-sense: identifying details about a vargr's whereabouts based on residual smells from their belongings; age of blood stains, source of food, recent injuries, so on.
— the human analogue would be: what someone ate while wearing a recently discarded piece of clothing, how long ago a shirt was laundered, what dirt or oils were on the skin while worn, etc.
more stuff:
— technologically adept; the achilo are spacefaring and can manipulate technology by interfacing with it neurally. achilobito do not have the same skills but are nonetheless taught how to interface manually.
— abilities are super strength (they can tear through metal armor easily), really accurate scent tracking (earth is very overwhelming scent-wise), shape-changing (vargr are more humanoid, ulfr are taught to change shape to infiltrate their clusters)
* clusters are pockets of migrating clone settlements; clusters themselves belong to the families that create them. not many families have more than a handful of clusters because of the resources required to seed them.
* achilos cannot procreate organically, they've lost the ability because of the scourge (overexposure to radiation). they're effectively a dying species. achilobito are likewise sterile, but can be re-cloned to variate.
* seeding is binding descendant genes with base genes to generate clones.
